𝗤 : 是不是狗狗有問題才會被遺棄？
𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰?

𝗔 : 很多人不敢領養，是因為他們以為狗狗有問題才會被遺棄，所以擔心自己不懂處理。事實上，很多遺棄個案根本就不是狗狗的錯。最常見的原因往往是︰搬家、初生嬰兒、分手、移居外地、敏感、無法負擔費用、無法飼養初生幼犬等，都是因為飼主在養狗前沒有考慮清楚。而另一常見原因則是他們一開始只憑外表去選擇狗的品種，卻不了解品種特性，也不清楚狗狗有甚麼需要。

不是說待領養狗狗就完美無瑕，但過去十年，我們協助超過 5千隻領養狗狗，當中友善健康、能迅速融入家庭的狗肯定佔大多數。一間可靠的機構也會坦誠交待所有已知的行為問題與健康狀況。只要你的家庭狀況、生活模式、育兒方法適合狗狗的年齡、性格、大小、品種或特定需要，並且願意聆聽我們的建議，你會發現那些問題其實都很易處理，甚至根本不存在。

Some people are still reluctant to adopt because they think rescue dogs must have problems and they are worried that they can’t cope with. The reality is, most dogs are unwanted through no fault of their own. Frequently seen reasons are moving home, the arrival of a new baby, relationship break-ups, moving abroad, allergies, unable to afford cost of pet maintenance, no homes for unwanted puppies, mostly because the owners have not thought through before getting a dog. Another major reason is owners have chosen a breed on looks alone, and not done their research on what that specific breed of dog needs to be happy.

We are not saying that all rescue dogs are flawless but out of over 5000 adopted dogs we have handled in past years, the majority of them were healthy, friendly and able to settle in their new home within a short period of time. A reliable rehoming organisation will make sure that potential adopters are informed of all known medical problems and behaviour issues. If you have the right sort of home, lifestyle and environment for a specific age, personality, size, breed or need of dog and are willing to take our advice on board, usually you will find their problems are manageable or even not exist.
